Grant Guadalupe Salas Lopez a stay of deportation before her next check in! Her 3 US citizen children need her.

Lupe is a hardworking single mom of 3 American born children, she has been in the US since she was 14 years old. Lupe entered into deportation proceedings in 2012, but has been granted a stay of deportation every year since then so she could continue raising her children. Her children have struggled with the fears of losing their mom, and one of her children even attempted suicide during these difficult times. Her children remain in therapy and continue to face the fear of possibly losing their mother to deportation. One of her children suffers from depression and anxiety related to the trauma of deportation and must attend therapy every two weeks. Another child has an illness for which they must have regular blood tests and doctor visits every two to three weeks.
In her last check in on April 4th, Lupe presented herself as expected but instead of her usual check in with her ICE official, she was greeted by a different ICE officer and told she would be deported and put on the first plane to Mexico. She was asked by ICE to sign a blank piece of paper, was not allowed to call her attorney, and was told she would be deported. At the end of it all, she was told that she must present herself at her next check in with plane tickets to Mexico for her and her 3 children otherwise she would be picked up at home. It was not until after her check in that her attorneys received notice that her Stay of Removal application had been denied. Lupe and her attorney have submitted another stay of removal application with even more documentation from her children's doctors and mental health providers and are now awaiting notice.

Le pidieron que firmara una hoja de papel en blanco, no se le permitió llamar a su abogado y le dijeron que sería deportada. Al final de todo, la dejaron ir pero le dijeron que debía presentarse en su próximo cheque con billetes de avión a México para ella y sus 3 hijos de lo contrario sería recogida en su casa. No fue hasta después de su chequeo que sus abogados recibieron aviso de que su solicitud de Stay of Removal había sido denegada. Lupe y su abogado han presentado otra solicitud de Stay of Removal con aún más documentación de los médicos y proveedores de salud mental de sus hijos y ahora están a la espera de notificación.
